The Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa (SIOPSA) will be screening Doctors of the Dark Side at its World Class Practices Seminar on Nov. 8.

DOCTORS OF THE DARK SIDE PANELISTS

  • Dr Giada del Fabbro  Dr Giada Del Fabbro obtained her Masters in Forensic Psychology at the University of Kent (Canterbury) in 2001, after completing her BSc Hons (Applied Psychology) at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1999. She subsequently completed a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology and PhD in Psychology in 2006. She is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in the category of Clinical Psychologist (Independent Practice) as well as with the British Psychological Society as a Graduate Member and American Psychological Association as an International Affiliate. She has a private forensic psychology practice where she consults on criminal and civil matters as an expert witness.                                                         
  • Dr Shane Hodgson  Dr. Shane Hodgson is currently working for Gold Fields as Vice President and Group Head of Organisational Effectiveness. Shane has had an extensive career as a Human Capital professional and organisational change specialist. With previous experience working for global blue chip companies like SAP, Price Waterhouse, Ernst and Young, Norwich Union and NCR Corporation, he has conducted business and HR transformation, organisational design and development assignments in 27 countries so far and has also worked as a senior HR Manager and HR Director. His academic qualifications include an M.Sc. in Psychology, an MBA in Strategy and Organisational Behaviour and a D.Phil in Leadership in Performance and Change. Shane originally registered as a Research Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in 1993 and is currently registered as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist in the UK and as a Master HR Practitioner in South Africa.
  • Allan Zinn   Allan Zinn is Director: Centre for the Advancement of Non-Racialism & Democracy at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.He is a political, education, sports and community activist who has worked as a Teacher, University Lecturer, NGO Project Manager, Education Consultant and Education Project Manager both in South Africa and Internationally.He received a Fulbright Scholarship in the early 1990’s to study at Columbia University, New York City, where he graduated with Masters of Arts and Masters of Education degrees.Probably relevant to today’s discussion is that he was detained in the 1980’s under Section 22 of the Internal Security Act; Section 6 of the Terrorism Act with the concomitant 7 months of solitary confinement as well as during the State of Emergency in 1985.
  • Maj Nicolette Kruge Nicolette Kruger studied at the then, Rand Afrikaans University, and completed her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology in 2003.  She completed her internship at Sterkfontein Hospital, and had the opportunity to complete her community service year in the military. She realized that her passion was within this environment, and has worked in SAS Saldanha, Youngsfield, Simonstown, 1 Mil Hospital and currently at Military Psychological Institute as the department head of the Operational Psychology Wing.  She has deployed to Darfur, Burundi and the DRC. She has no children, and after having believed she would never be wed, she is engaged to be married in 2013.
